We are delighted to have been awarded the IFSM (International Society of Feline Medicine) Gold Cat Friendly Clinic Award. This means we have to meet certain standards for our feline friends covering:
Reception/ Waiting Area
Hospitalisation of cats
Handling of feline patients
And Laboratory Standards
Our Feline Advocate making sure we meet and maintain these standards is our very own Nic Astbury Evans. Our cats now have a cat tree and screens in the waiting room and we offer blankets and Feliway spray to relieve any stress.
We also use this when they are hospitalised in a separate area from other species and give the cats boxes and hideaways, all to make them feel safe and secure. We have also met the standards for all of the Gold Level Award including being unique in the area in having a dental x-ray machine. All of our cats have a full x-ray screening before a dental to look for root resorption which is a big problem in cats.
For a detailed list of all criteria can be found on the International Cat Care website:
www.catfriendlyclinic.org. All our staff are very proud and happy to work to these highest standards for our feline family.
To help keep them safe we have prepared a list of hazards to be aware of around the festive period. See our CHRISTMAS OPENING TIMES
Many of our pets can struggle with the noise and flashing lights from fireworks, including rabbits and guinea pigs as well as dogs and cats.
Chisel came to see our vets with a limp and it soon became apparent he was having problems with one of his front feet
