Summer greetings from Prospect House

Summer 2023 Prospect House Vets

We hope you and your pets are enjoying this spell of fine weather. As much as we enjoy sunshine it can certainly bring challenges for our companions. You may have seen that we recently featured a story on Adders after one was sighted in undergrowth in Llyn Crafnant carpark.

The story received wide interest in the local press and also ITV wales online.  While not unusual to see these snakes during the summer months they can pose a risk to curious dogs.

Further information on this and more tips on how to keep your furry friends safe during the Summer months can be found on our website and Facebook page. Summer Hazards | Prospect House Vets

If you are thinking of taking your pets on your Summer holidays abroad we need plenty of time to prepare them. Your companions will need their microchip checking and have an up to date rabies vaccination.

We will need to see them for a Pet Health Certificate within 10 days of travel. Please get in touch with the Practice or look on our website for more detailed advice on Pet Travel Pet Travel | Prospect House Vets Colwyn Bay

This month brought great excitement with the arrival of our new equipment for Laparoscopic (Keyhole) Surgery. We had a successful start to providing Laparoscopic Bitch Spays with two days of excellent training and guidance by Rory from Simply Keyhole.

Our first patients recovered very quickly from their procedures and were back to normal activities within a few days.

If you are looking to have your female dog spayed and would like to discuss the Keyhole option please look on our website or contact the Practice. Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery for spaying | Prospect House Vets

Huge congratulations are in order for our Nurse Niki who got married this month. We wish Niki and her new husband every happiness for their future together and welcome Grant into our extended Prospect House Family!

In May we enjoyed seeing many of you at The Fun Dog Show held by the RSPCA Bryn y Maen Animal Shelter. Thank you for your help raising vital funds for the amazing work they do up there, caring for and finding forever homes for rescue animals.

We like to keep you updated with interesting cases and useful advice for keeping your pets healthy on our Facebook page.  We always value input from our clients.

If there are any subjects you would like more information on or any feedback you would like to share on our service at the Practice please get in touch via our website feedback form Client Feedback | Prospect House Vet Clinic (prospecthousevets.co.uk)
